(mini) Episode 1.5- PopWar

Episode 2 will be out early this coming week, but here’s a little something to tide you over in the meantime.

This cool video was made by a filmmaker named Emmanuel Junglander.

Created in 2006 as the final project for his upper secondary school 2D animation studies, this video is an interpretation of a couple of different scenes from Ashley Wood’s Popbot series.

It really brings Ashley Wood’s world to life!

Episode 1: "Getting to know you"

It's finally DONE.

Welcome to the first episode of the ThreeARadio podcast. This podcast is a work in progress, and will eventually evolve to follow a set format, but for this first episode, I chose to give some general background on the world of ThreeA toys and to introduce some of the fans of ThreeA.
For the most part, the show is made up of general discussion of different ThreeA books & toys, prefaced by a brief history of threeA and the heart & soul of the company- Ashley Wood.
Segment 1: Introduction & background on ThreeA & Ashley Wood

Music: Zombies vs. Robots, courtesy of Rob Liscombe

Segment 2: Discussion with ThreeA Legion member Devours

Music: The Humans Are Dead by Flight Of The Conchords

Segment 3: Discussion of ThreeA toys & books, as well as the World War Robot & Popbot movies with ThreeA Legion members Pitu and BakerTheZombie. Pitu also shares some of his experiences at the ThreeA Gathering in Beijing.

Music: Left 4 Dead Zombies

Segment 4: ThreeA Legion Member Spotlight. In this episode, we get to meet one of the original members of the ThreeA Legion- Sir Dirty Girty.

Segment 5: General discussion with ThreeA Legion Member ChasBrock.

Closing: Special thanks to ThreeA Legion members Pitu, BakerTheZombie, Devours, Sir Dirty Girty, and ChasBrock for sharing their time, energy, and insights. Thanks also to Ashley & Kim for creating such incredibly kick-ass toys.

Editing, Editing, Editing... Oh; and editing.

Spent quite a few hours editing today. Fun, but tedious- Turns out I'm only about a purple-belt in Audacity.

But I'm a tenacious f*cker, and I managed to plug away until I found a way to make the program do what I wanted. Things are coming together nicely; still on schedule for the show to drop this Sunday. Only question now is whether to hold out for one final piece of audio, or polish it up as it is now.

Oh; and here's the logo -

Coming soon...

This is pretty much an experiment. Many podcasts out there are 'niche-podcasts', but I'm not aware of many that are as 'niche-y' as a podcast dedicated to the toys, apparel, and art of Ashley wood.

Hell; I'm not even sure if I WANT to know about other uber-niche podcasts.

Anyway; my big toe has now been dipped into the podcasting sea. Here's hoping that there isn't a freaky undertow waiting to sweep me away....

More to come...
