Welcome to another episode of the threeA radio podcast! This episode features further coverage of the threeA presence at the 2011 San Diego Comic Con.

The Legion was out in force at the con, and I was fortunate enough to grab several on the spot interviews on the exhibit hall floor. Listen on, and you'll hear from Legion members Gimbat, Kat, Benny, Geopina, dtrain, Gregory, x43x, and BRiZL.

This episode also features part of the Cover Design panel held at the con. In the panel, several noteworthy artists discussed a number of their comic covers. Since this is a 3A podcast, I focused on Ashley Wood's contribution to the panel. Below, you'll find images of the covers Ash discussed, in the order that they were presented at the panel.

Ashley Wood covers discussed in the SDCC Comic Cover Panel-

30 Days Of Night

Automatic Kafka

Fallen Angel

Mystery Society

Ghost Rider 2099

One of the biggest surprises at the convention was the unveiling of some 1/12 scale Star Wars figure prototypes created by threeA. Devours and Chasbrock join me for some discussion on the prototypes and what we'd like to see from this exciting potential new line of high-end Star Wars figures.

3A "Action Portable" Stormtrooper Prototype

This episode also features another edition of threeA THUNDERDOME. In honor of the Star Wars figure unveiling, this edition of Thunderdome is Star Wars themed. Listen on as Devours and Chasbrock battle it out in the Star Wars trivia arena.

Several Convention Exclusive threeA toys were available at the con. These things were HARD to get, but I managed to grab one of the Action Portable Ascended Popbot figures. The opening of the figure and my initial impressions are presented here as sort of an impromptu unboxing and figure review.

Back again!

In this episode, I'm joined by legion members Anubis2Night and Bubo to talk about a subject near & dear to the heart of many 3A fans: Toy Customization. We take a look at what drives some fans to modify their designer toy pieces, adding their own personal touches to create new and unique pieces of designer toy art. We also take a look at some of the techniques and materials used to create both custom and scratch-built figures.

And since this podcast is first and foremost about threeA, I also take a look at one of the latest releases from the Hatchery: The Adventure Kartel Bleak Mission figure.

Thanks goes out to Anubis2Night and Bubo for participating in the customization discussion, as well as to YOU for checking out the podcast.

Still chuggin' along.

In this episode, the team and I get together minutes before the recent JDF Armstrong drop. A limited quantity of the figures were offered on Bambaland, with all proceeds going towards a relief fund for the victims of the earthquake and tsunami which struck Japan late last month.

We also geek out a bit over the scheduled appearance of Ashley Wood at the upcoming San Diego Comic Con.

We then go on to cover a number of topics, including the Adventure Kartel Fighting JC and Bleak Mission figures, the Action Portable Tomorrow Kings (again!), and the old-school 1/6 scale Armstrong figures.

This episode also includes some discussion of Digital vs. Traditional print media, the upcoming Popbot movie, and the meaning of "Fair Dinkum".

All this and more, on episode 14 of the threeA radio podcast.

Talkin' threeA with the Sucklord

To download, "right-click" and "save link as" HERE

This episode, I'm honored to be joined by a celebrated figure in the designer toy world- Sucklord, of Suckadelic Toys. Having been a part of the vinyl scene from day one, Sucklord provides a unique point of view on threeA and designer toys in general. And, as it is wont to do, Star Wars creeps into the mix as well.

But first, Original Generation Legionnaire Sir Dirty Girty and I take a look at the world of World War Robot. SDG lends his expertise as we delve into both the book and the incredible WWR figures.
This episode also features a review of the WWRp Noir Deplume figure: Pure bad-ass, shrunken down to 1/12 scale.

All this, plus Gimbat's threeA Daily News and more.

Blog: 1/12 Dropcloth!!!

The elves at the threeA hatchery are about to unleash another wave of kick-ass on us with this bad-boy:

When I first glanced at this photo, I thought "cool; that's a nice picture of the 12-inch Commando Uncle 5 Dropcloth.

Only it isn't.

This is a 6-inch Commando Uncle 5 Dropcloth!!!

6 inches tall, and capturing every last detail of its 12 inch tall brother, right down to the tiny articulated fingers!

If you've opened a new threeA figure before, you're probably familiar with the distinct "threeA smell." With the way my hunger for these things is growing, I'm starting to suspect that the smell is at least 15% crack. Or maybe nicotine.

Both?

APTKs Driving Me CRAZY!

Welcome to episode 11 of the threeA radio podcast. In this episode, the team is joined by a special guest- an old-school Legion member from across the pond: Tigerfeet. We talk a bit about the recent 3AA membership drive, and all the coolness that goes along with it.
Later, we roll up our sleeves and dig into the tornado of kick-assery currently heading our way from threeA, starting with the new Action Portable Tomorrow King figures.

We then discuss some recently landed items, and have a possible brush with the supernatural with the arrival of the 1/6 Adventure Kartel figure known as Ankou.

Next, we segue into talk of upcoming releases, including the WWR Grunts, Bot-Sniper, and Seven Bones.
